United, one of Orlando’s busiest airlines, warns of 14,000 furloughs nationwide

United Airlines has notified about 14,000 employees that they may be furloughed in April once the second round of federal aid expires as the coronavirus pandemic continues to decimate travel demand worldwide.

Meanwhile, aviation unions pressed Congress and President Joe Biden for another $15 billion in government assistance to keep workers on the payroll through at least Sept. 30, reported Reuters.
