OUC buys Osceola property tied to power plant purchase; plans $40M overhaul

Orlando-based Orlando Utilities Commission has closed on the purchase of 431.64 acres at 8400 Community Center Drive near St. Cloud, according to the Osceola County Property Appraiser.

The utility paid $60 million for the land and an inactive natural gas power plant site, facilities and inventory, spokesman Tim Trudell told Orlando Business Journal. The property portion of the total was $5.74 million, according to the Osceola County Property Appraiser. The seller was Texas-based Genova.
